You’re Engaged?! Congratulations! Now What?!
One of the next questions couples are asked is – when is the wedding?
This is a big decision in the planning process and to most couples means a lot more than just putting a date on the calendar. Some of the main factors that contribute to a couple’s decision on this topic include:
– Special or meaningful dates
– TimelineThe season and weather
– Spending plan
While the reasoning behind each chosen date will vary from couple-to-couple, it is important for you to find what is the most important aspect to you when selecting your date!
At Venue at the Grove, our 2.5 acre pecan grove changes throughout the seasons and the starting process of selecting your date with us starts with finding your season!
The temperature in the winter months is an average of 65 degrees during the day – perfect for when your ceremony begins! With the sun setting around 5:30 p.m., it is the perfect time to snuggle up with a blanket next to a fire pit with your loved ones. The winter months provide you with numerous opportunities to pull in the “Winter Wedding” vibes: a hot chocolate bar (you can even make it a boozy hot chocolate bar!), a s’mores table filled with an assortment of chocolates or cozy lounge sets.
In the beginning of December, the trees start to change color and bring more pops of yellows into your special day. As mother nature takes over, the trees lose all of their leaves and become bare. These bare pecan trees provide a whimsical romantic vibe and set up your winter wedding perfectly!
These spring months bring incredible weather to Arizona with an average temperature of 86 degrees. We usually see a later ceremony start time in the spring due to the later sunset time. That way, your guests can enjoy a cooler ceremony space and you will get the party started when the sun goes down!
The Pecan Trees
As the weather starts to warm up in the spring, so does the liveliness of the grove! The trees start to bud with leaves around the beginning of April and slowly grow throughout the month. This provides a light, airy and springy look to the grove. By the time May comes around, the leaves are almost fully developed, and the grove becomes an overarching canopy – the perfect shaded area for your ceremony!
We all know how warm the summers can be in Arizona, and that is why our indoor reception hall is a great place to transition to after the ceremony! In June, the grove is so shaded by the towering pecan trees that it feels cooler for your ceremony. The cocktail hour space is also shaded by the grove, and by the time reception starts, the sun is setting and the temperature continues to drop! These warm summer months provide you with great opportunities to include a refreshing drink display (think margaritas or lemonade) for your guests to enjoy the entire night.
The Pecan Trees
The summer is when the trees are fully developed with their leaves and provide a vibrant green color to the grove! We typically see weddings go through the second week of June, and then they pick back up again toward the end of September when the weather cools off. The grove is still lush and full by the end of September, and the leaves start to change color to a deeper green as we transition in the fall season.
The fall season in Arizona brings warm days and cool nights with an average temperature of 74 degrees. The sun sets around 6 p.m. this time of year, just in time for cocktail hour to finish and evening of good food, drinks and dancing to begin! Once the sun sets and the weather cools off this can be a great time to add some unique touches to your big day, such as an outfit change!
The Pecan Trees
These months are when the pecan trees are lush, green and create a gorgeous canopy of greenery over the venue. The sun peeking through the trees this time of year is simply magical! Once the sun sets, the trees light up the venue and create the perfect backdrop for dinner and reception.
