To favor or not to favor, that is the question. . . ok, all joking aside, some couples think providing a wedding favor to guests as a “thank you” is important, and some do not. That choice is of course completely up to you.
Centuries ago, wedding favors were known by their French name of bonbonniere. A bonbonniere was a small box made of crystal, porcelain, or gold, and often encrusted with precious stones. These special boxes were meant to hold bonbons, at a time when sugar was quite expensive. Sugar was also highly valued by all, as it was believed to have medicinal benefits. These were given to wedding guests in gratitude.
The wedding favor has changed quite a bit over the last century. We have cleaned up hundreds of weddings, and sometimes it’s painful to see how many wedding favors are left behind at the end of the night.
