Bridesmaid Style

April 2nd, 2014

Have you looked at pictures of weddings from years passed, and known exactly what decade the wedding took place based on the wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses? I am always in awe of those 80’s brides with ALL the fabric they had to carry around, right? I mean, between the puffy sleeves, and the beads, and the crystals, and the headpieces. . . . you get the point. I don’t know if people will look back in 20 years and say, “that was so 2014,” but, I really feel like bridal fashion has really come a long way. Below are some great ways to keep your ladies current and beautiful as they stand next to you on your wedding day.

Mismatched

Stick to the same color hues, but let your leading ladies pick a dress that suits their body and skin tone.

Accessory

If all your maids are wearing the same dress, maybe have them pick an accessory, like a statement necklace that suits their personality. Or, what about fun shoes in your wedding accent color? Accessories also make great bridesmaid gifts.

Prints

Prints can be a fun and unique looks for your girls. Print dresses are a little less formal, but they will be able to wear a print dress easily after the wedding.

White

A more modern look is to have all your bridesmaids in white with you. This color pallet leads to a really clean and coordinated look.
