Meet Our Photographers: Tiffany & Ryland Photography
How long have you been a photographer?
While we both studied photography in high school and college (prior to knowing each other), we officially started offering our services professionally in 2013.
How did you get into photographing weddings?
We initially photographed families, grad, head shots, etc., but Ryland quickly wanted something more challenging. He specifically wanted to learn the intricacies of creative lighting with a focus on fashion. It was Ryland who suggested we direct our focus on weddings. While learning the ins and outs of wedding day dynamics, we invested heavily in our education and equipment, as well as studying under masters in wedding photography for two years before accepting a wedding of our own. We understood the gravity of documenting once-in-a-lifetime events, and wanted to be prepared for all lighting situations or hiccups that could occur on wedding days.
What is your favorite part of a wedding day to photograph?
For Ryland, it will always be portraits of our couples! Whether it is capturing a sweet in-between moment or creating a work of art with the use of creative lighting, he always looks forward to portraits! He is incredible at posing directions (ask him about the S-curve!), finding interesting angles and encouraging authentic joy between our couples. For me (Tiffany), it is harder to select just one thing! Getting that perfect ring shot with the light glistening off every facet; interacting with your favorite people on the dance floor; finding that silly moment you will always laugh about or that precious memory that brings tears to your eyes; to me, it is just an honor to be entrusted to document memories you never want to forget!!
What is the largest wedding party you have had the privilege of photographing?
The largest wedding party we have photographed included 9 bridesmaids, 9 groomsmen, 7 flower girls and 1 ring bearer!! And, of course, a bride and groom (…and a partridge in a pear tree)!
What drew you to Venue at the Grove?
I will always remember that first time seeing Venue at the Grove…I took in a deep breath, got chills, and wondered how this place could be so magical. This was probably around 2012, and since then, we have watched the property evolve with modern updates and thoughtful care. In addition to countless wedding days, we have photographed Easter celebrations, Breakfast with Santa charity events, and participated in an elopement marathon and a Luxury Wedding Giveaway!! Yes, you heard me right — it was an extravagant wedding day where a sweet couple won the most incredible celebration, including the gown from Luv Bridal, luxury florals by Wild Child Floral Designs, catering by Ensemble Catering, dj services, videography by Blue Eyes Productions, photography by Tiffany & Ryland Photography and, of course, the beautiful grounds at Venue at the Grove and planning by Olaya Events. We continue to be impressed with the team’s dedication to each couple’s experience and the care taken to every planning detail from start to finish!
Fun Fact: Tell us something that is fun or interesting about yourself or your company!
We recently joined a vendor collaboration with Got You Covered, Pour Masters and several others where we set up our brand new studio space! While you have the ability to experience our metal wall art options and flip through our albums, the BEST part is that the building is dog-friendly, meaning the chance of meeting our puppies is high!!
