5 Things Guests Care About

1. Ceremony – Your vows and readings during your ceremony really leave an impression on guests. . . make it unique. . . make it personal.
2. Food – Set yourself apart from the “chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans” and provide food that is out of the box, delicious, and something you as a couple enjoy!
3. Drinks – Whether you have alcohol at your wedding or not, cocktails and mocktails should be festive and fun.
4. Music – NO, popping an ipod in with your favorite playlist is NOT ok! Music is important and sets the entire mood of the wedding. Get those peeps out on the dance floor!
5. Venue – Guests want to enjoy your wedding at a venue that represents you as a couple. . . . pick a venue that speaks to you. . . and provides a beautiful backdrop!

5 Things Guests DO NOT Care About

1.Invitaions – Hate to break it to you, but those babies are going straight into the recycle bin, so don’t spend an arm and a leg.
2. Programs – Sure, guests want to know who is in your wedding party, but you don’t need to print it out 150 times. Use a chalk board and write one large program for all to read on their way in to the ceremony.
3. Flowers – Sure everyone loves flowers at a wedding, but you do NOT need to go over the top! Also remember to keep floral centerpieces low on reception tables so guests can see each other and converse over them!
4. Bouquet/Garter Toss – Unless this is something really important to you, the bouquet and garter toss are becoming extinct with less and less participation. . . so save yourself the money.
5. Favors – Don’t spend a TON of money on favors! If you feel compelled to give something, give something that is edible, or altruistic like a donation to your favorite charity.
