Winter Floral Inspiration

December 22nd, 2016

If you have already started wedding planning and met with a florist, you know flowers can be expensive! One tip that florists will always give to keep your floral budget in check is to use seasonal flowers. . . . meaning flowers that grow in the season you are getting married. Which means winter florals can be pricey, usually because you are flying them in from somewhere else. Even so, you can still have winter flowers, and a beautiful wedding just by keeping the flowers simple.

Another idea to add to your floral décor is candle light. With short cool days during the winter, lots of romantic candle light is the perfect accompaniment to your flower decorations. I love the look of mercury glass candle holders. They look a bit vintage, but add a lot of glam to your table. By using lots of candle light and small simple floral arrangements, you’re sure to stay right on budget.

One last thing to consider when planning your winter florals is to keep the colors season appropriate. Colors like: white, red, greens, burgundy, dark purples, etc. Colors to avoid would be bright summer colors: hot pink, bright yellows, oranges, etc.

Even though winter may not be the most popular time of year to get married, it is such a beautiful season, and winter florals can be quite breathtaking. Need some inspiration, we have you covered.
